Hicbire responded, "None of our party's organs will decline from public opinion polls or scientific studies. We will have a CHP candidate who is guaranteed to win the election in the second round. If we cannot win the election in the first round, of course alliances can be formed. We will not repeat the mistakes of the past." Stating that forming an alliance was possible if they didn't win the election in the first round, Ozel said, "The CHP candidate will also make a speech during the alliance and the CHP candidacy."
Ozel, who emphasized the successes of the CHP in local elections, said: "March 31 was not only our victory. It wasn't just about the performance of our general candidate or our candidates. It was also about our promises, our successful campaign, the economic conditions, everything. And we managed all of them very well."
Ozel, in response to Israel-Hamas conflict, mentioned that Hamas's actions were a "terror act" and it was unacceptable for civilians. He emphasized that there is no side that can defend such acts, and the two sides are not comparable: "One side has a group committing terror acts, while the other side is a state bound by international law. There isn't a side whose sins can be covered by Hamas's actions."
Ozel expressed his concern for the statements that would weaken the Palestinian people and called attention to the remarks that would justify Israel in the face of Hamas's unacceptable "terror" acts. He also mentioned Turkey's trade ban against Israel, saying: "They are not doing enough. They are reading it very much through domestic politics. Many were very unhappy with this issue. I believe that the decision to impose a ban on trade in a place where 35 thousand people were killed would have been taken much earlier." He continued as follows: “I do not defend the worsening of Turkey-Israel relations, I have never defended it, but all the friends of Israel must show a tough stance against Israel.”
